Storm

Storm
By Rowan Parker Greene

Waves beat the sand in pounding rage.
Howling winds slash the sir and whip the earth.
Blackened skies roar with thunder, shaking the earth and heaven.
Lightning flashes bolts of light.
Hail pierces the air.
Rains overflow streams,
Streams to rivers,
Rivers to devastating floods.

Then, emerging from the darkened clouds, light battles through.
Waves hush.
Winds whisper.
Hail to sprinkling rains.
Thunder sleeps.
Lightning vanishes.
Floods slowly return to rivers,
Rivers to meandering streams.
The sun comes out.
The storm clouds disappear.
