~Practical Spirituality~
Submitted by Maru on Sun, 06/14/2009 - 21:51
Following the inner voice that talked to me while doing the dishes, I decided to start a new column called 'Practical Spirituality'. I am allowing my pioneer archetype initiate this fascinating subject and I am also inviting all you of you to express your own archetypes, your own concerns, viewpoints regarding this practical way of living.
What is the meaning of 'Practical Spirituality'? It is the ability to utilize spiritual techniques that will help us deal with daily challenges in a more effective way. By being spiritually practical, we are reminded to breathe before reacting to a painful comment someone else uttered, for example. By being spiritually practical we are reminded that we are having a temporal human experience and that we are always at choice. We are the ones who decide how we face life on a daily basis, do we choose an attitude of gratitude or do we choose to feel low energy emotions? If we are unable to transmute these emotions right away, can we at least decide not to dwell on them for longer than we need to? There are no right or wrong answers to these questions, we are here to explore how to become more spiritually practical so that we can enjoy not only our lives but we can also help other human beings enjoy their lives as well.
This is an open invitation to help one another elevate the frequency in which we vibrate daily. Paramahansa Yogananda says that one moon shines brighter than all the stars, so a 'mooned soul', that is to say a soul capable of reflecting only the light of God can influence all others. The power of one person who is awake and connected to all there is is actually greater than the power of the masses. So please, don't ever underestimate your individuals efforts, keep on 'moon journaling,' praying, meditating, sending light and loving care to your loved ones and to the world at large because you are heard and cosmically supported. In this spiritually practical way, we are able to create positive karma for many, many souls we get to interact on a daily basis.
I've been re-reading the course 'Communication Skills' so eloquently written by Margaret Branch who reminds us that at the spiritual level, holding on to old behaviors that no longer serve us is synonymous with spiritual stagnation. So let's work together here exploring different techniques that can help us become more spiritually practical in order to make the most of this wonderful human experience. At the end of this course, Christine Breese invites us to communicate as a master would. 'We must be the first', she says. I am here being the first, the pioneer, now it is your turn.
What spiritual techniques do you implement to help you cope with daily challenges?
Doctor Deepak Chopra suggests to silently say 'Namaste' when we are experiencing a conflictive dialogue with another human being who might not be as open and receptive as we are. This works at a soul level, the same way as (white) light works since it is a tool of consciousness.
I hope you come aboard sharing your ideas of how you were able to reconcile polarities; which techniques really helped you become spiritually practical in your daily endeavors. Like life itself, this is eternal work in progress, shedding light onto our personal shadows might turn out to be a painful process seen from the human perspective. So let's remind ourselves that we are the eternal self who spiraled down to denser realities to experience both being in the light and being in the dark. We have the power to choose how we re-act, coming from the dark or coming from the light.
May the Divine light always envelope us in healing love so that we are able to uncover the essence of our own true loving nature!!!
