Progress is a matter of opinion and spiritual interpretation
I've been contemplating the events in Haiti...wondering if the concrete and all the building materials had not been used and if they built more green in that area, using kinder materials for themselves and the environment would lives have been saved?
I'm saying that materials are often imported to areas that others believe to be "less fortunate" because God did not provide them with the materials needed to build such elaborate buildings. This is...again...Coyote...playing tricks on the mind.
God has a perfect design and knows what is good for an area and what some may look upon as "primitive" in design ; in hindsight may have been the most perfect design for that region. Let's just say if the homes were more from the regions resources and resembled green homes natural materials, no cement block etc. Would lives have been saved? Perhaps...
My hypothesis is this: there are times when a grass hut is the best possible design perfection and it has its place. Just because a thing is made of heavier materials and sports an elaborate design does not make it superior.
I've been through an earthquake and wanted nothing more than to get away from all the cement and tall buildings. Realizing how absolutely stupid it was to build that way to begin with. And yet, I didn't really see it that way for years until it all came tumbling down and people were trapped and killed. It was horrible...not like Haiti...but still horrible. Haiti's situation is catastrophic and if it were me I know I wouldn't want to walk back into a home made from rock, cement..
God teach us to build more green and safer as your design is far more perfect than that of which we've been forced into...
